Pup scouting on Newbury Street

I went down to Copley to get coffee with AJ this afternoon, and then I walked back along Newbury St, which is a prime dog-spotting location.
This time I had a little more nerve, and so I asked people if I could take pictures of them instead of hiding behind bushes, which made for much better pictures. Also it was really nice out, so everyone was in a good mood.
These were the first guys I saw:

I like a Scotty almost as much as a dachshund.

He was having a training session, so I wasn't allowed to distract him for too long.




This was the first dachshund I have seen on a pup scouting mission. He was tiny and very cute. And he didn't want to look at the camera...

...but then he did.

Playdate with Watson

This afternoon Watson and I went on a playdate. I was going to go somewhere that he could run off the leash, but then we ended up just going over and walking by the river off of Soldier's Field Rd.


He was very excited to go in the car; I discovered that one of the benefits of a small dog is that they don't block your rearview mirror.


Also it is harder for them to drag you through the mud.

There were some rowers on the Charles (obviously).

We saw a little black and white puffy dog that went nutso when he saw Watson, but I didn't take a picture.

I was really tired afterwards, I fell asleep and didn't pick up Lisa to go swimming...oops.

Harvard Square pup scouting

Today I went on a dog scouting mission in Harvard Square. I was hoping there were going to be some in front of Darwin's Ltd

while we were having breakfast,

but I think I was a little late for the dog walking crowd because I slept in.



Yesterday we went to Tremont 647 in the South End for the pajama brunch*, and there were a TON of pups there, but I didn't have my camera :(


There was even one with a water bowl eating dirt from the planter in front of the restaurant.
They put a water bowl out front, and they have free dog biscuits from some fancy dog bakery in a jar inside. DogBoston rates it as one of the most dog-friendly restaurants in Boston. (Although I rate it as not one of the most vegan-friendly restaurants. But they do have a good orange juice and herbed hash browns).

This was the first pup we saw, and my favorite. He was wearing a very handsome jacket, and his owner looked nice.

We saw this guy while we were driving out of Harvard Square. He was having a nap in the sun!


All in all, not as many pups as I had hoped for. I think I might try the South End next weekend, and get up earlier.

** A funny story: Once when my mom was staying in a youth hostile in Boston, she shared a room with some girls from Argentina (I think. Possibly somehwere else in South America). They were in Boston for a day and a half, and they had spent the entire first day on the Common taking pictures of squirrels and ice.

Dog sitting for Watson

I am taking care of Watson for a couple of days. Until I have my own dog, I will just have to amuse myself by taking pictures of other people's.


He got some teeth out on Tuesday, but I think he is feeling better. What a happy pup!

This weekend I gave my dad's pups a bath.

Afterwards she was so mad.
